About Heather Andronicos
(she/her)
Like many others with different brains and bodies, the road I have taken to get here was…. scenic. It has galvanised my belief that ‘All Roads Lead to Rome’, and the importance of flexible, agile ways of getting things done when our reality feels impossible.
I graduated with my First Class Honours in Science (Psychology) from USQ in 2019, then completed my 3000-hour internship in clinical practice seeing a range of presentations. I discovered my passion for working within my corner of ‘special interest’ knowledge in the crossover between chronic health, pain, neurodivergence and trauma. This has allowed me to refine skills in neuroaffirming, trauma-informed pain approaches and health advocacy work. I have also worked in remote Queensland on FIFO rotation, providing on-country support for rural and remote clients.
I enjoy:
finding good books to read with a cup of coffee or tea
planning my next place to travel
trying to keep plants alive
hanging out with my dog, although miscellaneous dogs are also fine
I dislike:
icebreaking activities
yoghurt, custard and other similar textures
when I go out in public and the public is there
About Callie May
Calamity Mayhem is not a therapy dog but disagrees with this determination and believes you will find her company extremely therapeutic. As such, she often pops in to say hello when I am practising at home. She is under a doggie confidentiality contract and keeps all secrets.
Callie enjoys:
everybody she has ever met
the implied challenge of the word ‘no’
practising her singing voice at unexpected intervals
She dislikes:
ear drops
getting out of bed in the morning
Values
-
Empowerment
My work centres clients as the experts in their own life and emphasises a collaborative process that is deeply rooted in advocacy and human rights.
-
Flexibility
I prioritise remaining agile and tailored, doing therapy with you, not at you. If an approach is not working for your goals, we can pivot. Your feedback and experience is key.
-
Compassion
Working with me acknowledges and leans into the messiness of existence, and I will not pretend to be above that experience alongside you.
-
Humour
I value an irreverent approach, as life is serious enough without a health professional who also takes herself very seriously.

A NOTE ON PACING
Like a lot of my fellow humans, I am learning what my baseline looks like. As such, I prioritise taking space to manage my own capacity so I can keep showing up with the fullest cup possible. This may look like:
honouring my business hours
booking in regular leave for travel and breaks
Please see Resources for out of hours assistance. I will make plans with clients for continuity of care ahead of planned absences.
